I
am Auctioning My Pearl Necklace!
Newest
Appraisal 2002 reads: "Ladies sixteen inch strand of cultured
pearls measuring approximately sixteen inches long and containing
forty-four pearls measuring approximately 7-7.5mm,average, with
a medium low luster, medium blemish and cream to white color.
The pearls are knotted between each pearl. There is a 14k stamped
yellow gold round swirl style catch containing one round 5.8mm
cultured pearl set in the center and is surrounded by six cabochon
turquoise stones measuring approximately 3-3.25mm average and
are light blue to green in color. Appraised for $1,350.00."
1985
appraisal reads: "Single strand cultured pearls, 14 inches
long, uniform 7-7 1/2 millimeters. 14k yellow gold clasp set
with one pearl and 6 small turquoise. $650.00."
Since
I noticed that there was a difference in the length from both
appraisals I measured it myself and I measured end to end 15
inches, including clasp and latch!
I have taken a lot of pictures, on different backgrounds, with
and without flash. Picture of the two appraisals as well.
This
necklace was given to me from my Mother in Law many years ago.
I had the pearls appraised in 1985 for insurance purposes then
seven years ago (2002)when I decided that I would try to sell
them on the bay. I soon realized, after many attempts, that
I could not compete with the real jewelers that were selling
items from their stores. I was just spending too much in fees.
Plus, I am not an expert on jewelry and cannot take returns.
I wouldn't know if a diamond was replaced with a zirconium before
making it back in the mail! Not that I don't trust people but
I don't want a scammer to claim that they mailed my original
piece back to me when they surely have not! Again, I wouldn't
be able to tell the difference!
I
still would like to sell them because I have no need of them
any longer. I have two adult sons and they would have no use
of my jewelry. I thought about taking them to a pawn shop but
that will be my very last resort. I will send copies of the
two appraisals with the necklace.
If
I have missed any pertinent information please don't
hesitate to send me an O-mail with questions.
I
will provide Insurance and Registered Mail. Buyer only
pays $4.95 for Priority Mail Service. SOLD AS IS.
