This scarab bodied cat pin most likely dates to the scarab craze of the early to mid sixties and is an exceptionally piece of jewelry. The brooch measures 2 1/2 over 3/4 of an inch wide. The finely carved scarab is Unakite, which according to Wikipedia, "...was first discovered in the Unakas Mountains of North Carolina and is an altered granite of pink orthoclase feldspar, green epidote, and generally colorless quartz. It exists in various shades of green and pink and is usually mottled in appearance. All of my regular customers know I have a flair for the unusual, best of luck to you all.....
